Your initial consultation will consist of a review of your medical history, clinical assessment and a discussion of your expectations and concerns. In some patients the use of computer modelling is used to give a visual representation of the results of cosmetic surgery. The nature of any proposed treatment will be explained in detail including the procedure itself, recovery time and anticipated result along with any potential risks of the operation. If you chose to have cosmetic surgery the consultation fee will be waived. Dr Julian De Silva is an artist and takes meticulous care to evaluate your facial characteristics, discuss your expectations and customise your surgery to you, this takes time and cannot be rushed. Dr De Silva is not able to offer free consultations as he personally spends time with every patient discussing your individual and unique needs, your expectations from surgery and how to achieve a fast recovery and the most natural looking results. Dr De Silva will review your photographs and make a careful assessment of your face, he may or may not agree with all your requests depending on facial balance and harmony. Dr De Silva is a London facial cosmetic surgeon who specialises in the eyes, nose, face and neck areas only. Dr De Silva does not perform body plastic surgery and is known for natural looking results. All surgery is meticulously planned and conducted as discussed with each of his patients, the surgery cannot be rushed.
Cosmetic surgery is not covered by health insurance or by the NHS. All fees are discussed with you before the surgery and are all inclusive fees, so there are no further costs at a later stage. The fee is a combination of the surgeon’s fee, the anaesthetic fee and the operating facility fee.
Facial surgery of all types can be performed at our facility. The majority of facial plastic surgery procedures which include blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), facelift (Deep-plane Vertical Vector Facelift), necklift, browlift, neck fat reshaping and reduction, cheek and chin augmentation and reduction, otoplasty (ear pinning) and ear shaping, lip surgery, skin resurfacing, laser surgery and revision surgery may be performed.
Our surgical custom-built facility in Central London has attained the Care Quality Commission (National organisation to certify office facilities and hospitals). The Centre at 23 Harley Street is a surgical outpatient facility built to the highest standards. Our facility not only meets all building and fire department requirements but also exceeds standards specified by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Dr De Silva invests in the very latest state-of-art equipment, all equipment is purchased new micro-burr and US manufactured laser equipment. All medical staff members are certified in Cardiac Life Support.
Dr De Silva also operates in the Welbeck Hospital, a Central London Hospital Surgery that specializes in only cosmetic surgery. The Welbeck Hospital provides patients with complete anonymity and enables patients the choice of a both relaxed and convenient recovery in the hospital facility overnight. The Welbeck has full Care Quality Commission (CQC) accreditation and has experienced cosmetic surgeons, anaesthesiologists, nursing staff and medical support. The philosophy and purpose of the Hospital is the pursuit of excellence in the provision of elective cosmetic surgery procedures and has consistently invested in the latest equipment and technology for safety, cleanliness and patient comfort.
All practice procedures are compliant with the very highest levels of Professional Standards for Cosmetic Practice as set out by the Royal College of Surgeons Guidelines. These stringent guidelines include the provision of information, communication, informed consent, appropriate education and training of surgeons and team members, use of medical equipment and premises documentation and audit.
The state-of-the art operating room is a substantial cost to build, maintain, and staff. The operating facility fee is charged to our patients for the use of the accredited facility/ private hospital and is based on the duration of the procedure.

Our facility only employs fully accredited physicians who specialise in anaesthesia with years of experience.
We do not employ nurse anesthetists to give anaesthesia.
We only employ certified health care professionals with both experience and full accreditation.
Operating room and recovery room nurses are Registered Nurses (with the National regulatory board, The Nursing and Midwifery Council) specializing in plastic surgery with years of experience in hospitals and ambulatory facilities.
The Centre invests in the latest equipment and technology to give patients the safety, effective and comfortable surgery. This includes state-of-the-art digital x-ray machine, radio-frequency machine and state-of-the-art laser skin resurfacing machine. Oxygen is available in both the operating room and recovery room and a central large capacity suction system also supplies suction to operating room and recovery rooms. Both operating rooms and recovery rooms have a central built-in light system in addition to a fiberoptic xenon headlight system for extra safety. Special flooring system in the operating room is designed for maximal cleanliness. An industrial strength hospital sterilizer is used, which has a special built in printer to print temperature readings which is then logged into a book daily to show that the temperature necessary for sterility was reached. All of our equipment is brand-new and not reconditioned, recovery room chairs, light sources, imaging, computer systems and all other equipment are all purchased new. We also routinely use warming blankets for safety and comfort.

Dr De Silva continues to see his patients for 12-months after surgery and sees all patients personally.
Some cosmetic surgery providers and organisations use treatment coordinators to follow-up patients, Dr De Silva sees all his patients for follow-up consultations.
For some procedures Dr De Silva will use anti-inflammatory medications to speed up resolution of swelling and speed up recovery, the cost of these treatments is included in the overall fee, there are no additional fees.
