Often younger people with puffy lower eyelids have a different character in their cheek-eyelid anatomy. This elegant lady came to see me with a troublesome lower eyelid puffiness. Although she was young there is a genetic element to these changes related to the underlying eyelid anatomy. I previously have written a book chapter on this are of surgery! Often when patients have come to see me, they have tried every single kind of cream ointment and sometimes nonsurgical treatments without any real effect. The changes that we can see are related to the lower eyelid fat creeping forwards in the eyelid resulting in a puffy appearance. I completed my signature lower eyelid blepharoplasty hiding the scar on the inside of the eyelid. She looks at least 10 years younger! Ethnic blepharoplasty requires careful consideration as any scars can be much more obvious in these patients. I take great care to avoid scars in such patients, hide them in natural creases and in this patient the scars are completely hidden, I hope you agree that she looks absolutely amazing!

This brilliant patient of mine came to see me with troublesome lower eyelid bags. Although young these had been increasingly frustrating as often people associate these with tiredness or stress. I completed my signature blepharoplasty with sedation anaesthesia. Although patients are often worried about anaesthesia, we have perfected this form of anaesthesia over a ten year period. We used our own specialised algorhythm for twilight anaesthesia that means patients recover over less than thirty minutes after surgery, and more than 95% of patients are able to go home less than an hour after surgery. Mild drowsiness, no nausea or sickness associated with troublesome general anaesthesia, as well as avoiding the serious risks associated with a general. She was very grateful for an amazing result! Revision surgery means that there is some scar tissue and change in the natural anatomy that can require additional techniques to enhance recovery including oxygen therapy and regenerative medicine.
